The Song That Consumed the Body

There’s a song that ebbs and flows.
Its roots run deep into the core of the Universe. You can’t hear it. Not with your outer ears. You have to go in to listen to it.
Close your eyes and imagine a waterfall. See how the water flies down, but not as fast as it should. It moves so slowly, excruciatingly slow, and it’s soft. It doesn’t crash into the ground because there is no ground. It just travels down. Down through those roots that connect it to the Universe’s Core.
Feel that sensation in your body for a moment. Don’t let your mind take over. Just feel a soft, slow velvet wave of energy flowing down, going deeper, reaching ancient grounds, leaving you in awe of how it doesn’t stop.
The thing is, you can’t really listen to the song if you’re thinking, at first, it may seem that way, but it’s not. If you listen with your body, you’ll find that it reacts much more quickly to its effects. The body’s sensations won’t lie.
Once you give in and feel those sensations, the burning, the ice, the wind that blows, the way your skin feels like catching fire, you won’t be able to ignore it. Then, you’ll ride the waves that will take you deeper and farther from the shore.
This is a very long, almost never-ending journey. And like all journeys, it comes with its dangers.
Sometimes, the waves will strip you bare and drown you, only to save you once you’ve reached a deeper space and fill you up with ecstasy. Then they’ll slap you to wake up, not as punishment, though it may seem so.
It is just their way of being. The closer you get to the core, the louder you’ll hear the song. That song has been calling to you both. That song is different from any other pair’s song and yet identical.
The more you travel down through the threads that are connected to the Core, the more intense it’ll get.
Don’t run from it.
