You Do Not Frighten Me

Let me feel you like the petals of a rose, feel the juicy raindrops
Splashing down during a summer rain
Let me feel you like the grass feels the burning mid-July sun
When its fire covers the lands
Let me feel you like the trees feel
When the wind makes love to them all-day
Let me feel you like the bees feel
When they taste that first spring pollen
Let me feel you like a dragonfly feels
When it first flies mid-air
Let me feel you like the bird feels
When she sings looking for a mate
Let me feel you whole
Let me feel your parts
Let me feel your longings
Let me feel your heart
Let me hold it in my golden hands
I’ll bathe it in the purest waters
I’ll perfume it with the sweetest incenses
I’ll lay it on the holiest altars
With flowers all around it
Its sacredness does not frighten me
Nor do you, laying there on top of me
